Every morning on the way to school we stop at a little bakery near Shawn’s pre-school. Shawn usually gets a donut (and one for Ethan too) or a Mexican pastry. The bakery recently added two new statues in the corner of the restaurant and every morning Shawn comments on how sad the statues look. The statue is actually called The Sleeping Mexican and this is what it looks like.
This is how our conversation went this morning:
Shawn: Mommy, those men be so sad every morning.
Mommy: Why do you think the statues are sad?
Shawn: Because they have to sit in the donut shop ALL day long and don’t get to eat any donuts! I’d be very sad too.
Mommy: (trying not to laugh) Yes, that would be very sad.
